Hi! I’m Jenny, 25 years old, progressive thinker, gin drinker, queer. I love contemporary art, postmodern novels, interior design, Asian plants, The L Word, Tegan and Sara, and Bollywood cinema. And women! I feel like I’m a bit late to the LGBT party – my moment of realization didn’t arrive until about a year ago, but now I’m down for a good old-fashioned journey of self-reflection and rediscovery. As you will see in this blog’s pilot episode, the opening premise is that, after moving out of my childhood house for almost 2 years and a recent bad breakup, I am now living with my hyper-strict, anti-gay, conservative parents again. They know nothing of my orientation. I have never dated a woman, and I have just started coming out to a few of my close friends – most of whom are straight. The purpose of this blog is to have a conversation about the process of coming out, about problems faced by women who like women, about emotional healing. I hope to meet like-minded friends along the way and be a voice of support for anyone feeling as alone as I have felt.

This blog is named for my favorite Tegan and Sara song, called “Living Room”:
